UML seeks clarification from 22 lawmakers disobeying party whip

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli faction has sought clarification from 22 lawmakers who gave vote of confidence to Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba on July 18.

According to sources, sending a letter dated July 20 on Wednesday, UML has asked its disgruntled lawmakers to submit clarification within 24 hours.

The letter signed by Chairman Oli has sought explanation alleging that various gatherings were held against the party’s interest, factional activities were carried out and ‘criminal’ activities like joining the opposition alliance against the party chairman Oli led-government were taken of late; and asked why the leaders involved in such activities should not be punished as per the party constitution.

UML’s Oli faction’s Standing Committee meeting is underway in Chyasal, Lalitpur.
