NA set to transfer 12 brigadier generals



KATHMANDU: Nepal Army (NA) is making preparations to transfer 12 brigadier generals including the two from the crucial departments.

Chief of Army Staff General Purna Chandra Thapa has proposed to transfer Brigadier General Bijaya Thapa to the Directorate of Welfare, Prakash Deuja to Brigade 2, Man Bahadur Mahara Brigade 5, Krishna Dev Bhatta to the policy department and Nakul Rayamajhi to the Directorate of Strategy.

This reshuffle is being made ahead of the retirement of CoAS Thapa. Thapa is taking leave starting August 8.

Prabhu Ram Sharma will take charge as the CoAS following the retirement of Thapa.

Similarly, Brigadier General Chok Bahadur Dakal is being picked as the military assistant for the CoAS and Sunil Shrestha as the military secretary at the request of Sharma.

These two positions are considered crucial in the NA.
