NC Prez Deuba holding meeting with CC members even today



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur is holding a meeting with central working committee (CWC) members today.

President Deuba has intensified meetings with the CC members urging them to support him saying that he is going to contest the presidential election in the upcoming general convention.

According to Bhanu Deuba, Deuba’s personal aide, President Deuba has called the CC members at his official residence in Budhanilkantha this morning.

Deuba is holding a meeting with CC members from Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Pradesh today.

On Sunday, he had held talks with CC members close to him from Bagmati and Gandaki Pradesh and those from Pradesh 1 and 2 on Saturday.

Deuba has been publically stating that he wants to take the help of the party given experiences of leading the party and the government.

The NC has scheduled its 14th general convention for September 1-4.  Beside Deuba himself, Vice President Bimalendra Nidhi is also vying for the post of the President in the upcoming general election from Deuba group.

CC members have advised Deuba to take Nidhi and former General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula into confidence to win the elections.
