PM Oli reaches Sheetal Niwas before the opposition leaders

PM Oli, President holding talks as opposition waits for President to submit its claim



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli reached President Bidya Devi Bhandari’s office at Sheetal Niwas a couple of minutes before the opposition alliance reached there to claim for the post of Prime Minister Friday afternoon.

According to sources, after getting news about CPN-UML’s disgruntled leader Madhav Kumar Nepal joining the opposition alliance, PM Oli visited President Bhandari to discuss the prospective moves ahead.

Leaders of the main opposition party Nepali Congress led by President Sher Bahadur Deuba have also reached the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas with the signatures of 149 lawmakers.

Meanwhile, PM Oli and President Bhandari are holding talks as the opposition is waiting for the President to see them.

President Bhandari had called on the parties to form a government as per Article 76 (5) of the Constitution by 5 pm today.

Opposition alliance reached Shital Niwas after holding discussions at Singha Durbar.

Sources said that the Prime Minister reached Shitalniwas 10 minutes ago.
