KATHMANDU: As many as six writ petitions have been filed at the Supreme Court (SC) alleging President Bidya Devi Bhandari for violating the Constitution while calling for the formation of a government as per Article 76 (5) of the Constitution.
The writ petitions have been filed against the President’s decision calling parties to form a new government.
However, the petitions have not been registered yet, according to Chief of the Supreme Court Cases Division Baburam Dahal.
The writ petition claims it is unconstitutional for President Bhandari to call for the formation of a government within 21 hours without Prime Minister KP Oli’s resignation.
