CIAA issues notice to IRD Ex-DG Sharma

KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has called former Director General Chudamani Sharma of Inland Revenue Department (IRD) for recording his statement on a graft case.

Issuing a notice to Sharma on Wednesday, the CIAA has warned that if he doesn’t heed to CIAA summon within seven days, legal proceeding would be initiated against him.

Earlier, the anti-graft body had asked him to appear before it without issuing any notice but in vain.

The CIAA has filed a corruption case against Sharma at CIAA Special Court on charge of corruption while holding public post and accumulating disproportionate asset worth NRs 42.95 million.
