Tanahun man fights and takes rogue cheetah under control

TANAHUN: A cheetah has been taken under control in Tanahu district Wednesday.

Madan Kumal of Vyas municipality-6 of Tanahu district fought and took a cheetah under control.

Kumal heard the cry of a woman while he took his cattle out for grazing this morning. A woman had been yelling for help as the wild animal was hovering around her.

Kumal ran towards the woman and saw a cheetah trying to attack the woman after it failed to prey on a buffalo inside a cowshed. The wild beast also set its eye on Kumal soon after he reached there.

He fought with the rogue cheetah and got hold of its leg and head. After fighting for around two minutes, Kumal’s brother Bhesh Bahadur also reached the site, and Kumal, with his brother, took the cheetah under control.

Kumal said it was easy for him to take the cheetah under control as the beast was old. He added that they informed the police after bringing the wild animal under control.

Chief of Division Forest Office, Tanahu, Komal Raj Kafle, said they received the information about the incident and a team was dispatched to the incident site.

A total of 10 children have lost their lives to cheetah attack in Tanahun in two years.
