Newly-appointed AG Badal takes oath of office



KATHMANDU: The newly appointed Attorney General Ramesh Badal has been administered the oath of office amidst a program organized at the Office of the President in Sheetal Niwas on Sunday.

According to Shital Niwas sources, Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana administered the oath of office to Badal at a special function held in Sheetal Niwas.

Vice President Nand Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister KP Oli, National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina and other high-ranking government officials were also present at the event.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari, on the recommendation of PM KP Oli, had appointed Advocate Ramesh Badal as Attorney General, the government’s chief legal advisor, on Friday.

The post had been vacant after Attorney General Agni Kharel announced his resignation Friday afternoon.
