KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister and senior leader of CPN-UML Jhala Nath Khanal has accused Prime Minister and party Chair KP Oli of running both government and the party arbitrarily.
Speaking at the first plenary meeting and swearing-in ceremony of the Youth Federation close to his UML’s Nepal-Khanal faction in Kathmandu, on Sunday, he said that PM Oli has gone more authoritarian after the Supreme Court (SC) verdict of March 7.
The SC had nullified the existence of erstwhile ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) and had declared that the parties which formed NCP were revived at their pre-unification status CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center).
“PM Oli is leading the country arbitrarily, we will neither accept such trend nor will succumb to it,” leader Khanal said.
He reiterated that his faction would not accept the arbitrary decisions like dismissing the office bearers, formation of the party’s General Convention hosting committee and the amendment of party statute.
He held PM Oli’s December 20 decision on dissolution of the House of Representatives as inciting factor that led to instability in the country.
