Overloaded carriers to face action



KATHMANDU: The Transport Management Department has decided to prevent the vehicles from carrying the load more than their capacity.

If the containers are found carrying overload, they would faction action. They would face action as per the containers’ carrying capacity regulation directive, 2074, the Department added.

The Department came up with this decision after the complaints of non-implementation of the directive, according to Department Spokesperson Dr Loknath Bhushal.

Earlier, the Department brought into use the weighing bridge at Bardibas of Mahottari and Anptari of Chitwan to curb overloaded transportation. The initiative is aimed at reducing accidents and ensuring road safety.
