TAC wins gold cup tournament



KATHMANDU: The Tribhuvan Army Club has won the martyrs memorial gold cup football tournament that concluded in Hetuada, the capital of Bagmati.

In the final match held on Saturday, the TAC defeated local team Makwanpur-11 by 1-0 to win the cup. TAC’s Tek Bahadur Budhathoki’s goal in the 39th minute of the match proved decisive in the end.

Along with the cup, the TAC also won a cash prize of Rs. one million. Likewise, Makwanpur-11 won Rs. 500,000 and the runners-up trophy.

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Chair Karma Tshering Sherpa and local leaders gave away the prizes and certificates. The tournament was organized by the Makwanpur football association.

A total of 10 teams including six A division clubs, the organizing team, and two other teams took part in the competition.
