One killed in wild elephant attack in Chitwan



CHITWAN: A woman lost her life in a wild elephant attack in Chitwan district on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Tilmaya Bhujel, 50, of Ganganagar in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-13, according to the District Police Office, Chitwan.

The incident took place at around 4:00 this morning and Bhujel died on the spot after coming under the attack of the elephant, Area Police Office, Geetanagar said.

Bhujel was attacked as she tried to run out of the house that was being attacked by the elephant.

The elephant also damaged three houses in the locality. Total damage incurred in the incident is not yet known.
