Six killed as truck falls into Marsyangdi River



KATHMANDU: Six people, including a three-year-old boy, were killed when a truck fell into the Marsyangdi River in Manang last evening.

According to DSP Subash Khadka of the District Police Office, Manang, the truck fell into the Marsyangdi River at Naso Rural Municipality-3.

Two others, who were injured in the accident, are undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

The truck — Dha 1 Kha 592 — carrying cement from Lamjung’s Bensisahar to Manang district headquarters Chame met with the accident.

Police said that the truck fell into the river due to excessive load.

There were eight passengers in the truck, including the driver and co-driver. Six of them died.
