Former Prime Minister Bhattarai flies to New Delhi for treatment



KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister and Federal Council Chairman of Janata Samajwadi Party Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has left for New Delhi, India for medical treatment.

According to his secretariat, Bhattarai left for Delhi at 11:30 am via Nepal Airlines.

He had been undergoing medical examination and treatment of stomach problems at Nidan Hospital in Kathmandu for a long time.

According to Bhattarai’s press advisor Bishwadeep Pandey, he will be treated at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences in New Delhi as per the doctor’s advice and recommendation on suspicion of having a neuroendocrine tumor.

Bhattarai spouse Hisila Yami and Press Advisor Pandey have gone to Delhi with Bhattarai.

While staying in Delhi for treatment, Bhattarai will stay at the Nepali Embassy in Delhi.

Before leaving for Delhi, Bhattarai said goodbye to his grandchildren and went to Delhi for medical treatment.
