NC to probe party’s active membership

KATHMANDU: With the announcement of fresh date for the 14th national general convention, the Nepali Congress (NC) has expedited probe on active membership.

The central working committee meeting of the NC held on February 18 formed a probe panel under the leadership of central committee member Ramesh Lekhak.

Ananda Prasad Dhungana, Jiban Pariyar, Shyam Kumar Ghimire, Pradip Poudel, Kalyan Kumar Gurung and Yogendra Chaudhary are other members of the panel.

A meeting of the panel held on Friday also decided to write to the districts and constituencies to submit the details of the active membership by meeting the set standards.

Likewise, Dr Pradip Parajuli (technical) and advocate Keshav Rijal (administration) have been appointed as secretaries of the panel.

The next meeting of the active membership probe panel is to hold on 23 February to amend the committee’s terms of reference.

The central working committee meeting of the NC has fixed the date for the party’s 14th national general convention from 23-26 August in Kathmandu.
