Former NEC Chairman Neupane sent to jail after failing to deposit Rs 3.5 million bail bond



KATHMANDU: The then chairman of Nepal Engineering College (NEC) Lambodar Neupane facing a case of offering a bribe to the then Commissioner at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of the Authority (CIAA) Rajnarayan Pathak has been sent to jail.

The Bhaktapur District Court had sought bail of Rs 3.5 million from Neupane. After failing to deposit the bail amount, Neupane was sent to Dilli Bazaar Jail.

Neupane had allegedly offered a bribe of Rs 7 million to the then commissioner Pathak. After the incident, the police had filed a case against Neupane in court on the charge of fraud.

He was arrested by the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police from his residence at Chandole in Kathmandu.
