Finance Minister Poudel rules out possibility of House reinstatement

KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel has ruled out the possibility of reinstating the House of Representatives (HoR).

Speaking at a program in the capital today, Poudel, however, said his party – Nepal Communist Party led by Prime Minister KP Oli – will accept the decision of the Supreme Court.

“We will accept the SC’s verdict,” Poudel, who is also the General Secretary of the NCP, said adding that Prime Minister Oli dissolved the HoR when he enjoyed a majority in the Parliament.

Poudel said the only option is to seek a fresh mandate to ensure political stability, and claimed that the Oli-led faction would garner a majority in the upcoming general elections.

He also alleged the Prachanda-Nepal faction for hesitating to face the elections.
