NC staging ward-level demonstrations against HoR dissolution today

KATHMANDU: Main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) is holding ward-level demonstrations against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) across the country on Thursday.

Demonstrations are taking place at 6,743 wards in the country, said the party’s central office chief secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel.

The NC had demonstrated at 165 constituencies on December 28, in 330 provincial constituencies on January 9 and 753 municipalities and rural municipalities on January 16, concluding that the dissolution of the HoR is unconstitutional and anti-democratic.

NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba has appealed to all the people to come out of their houses to participate in the ward-level demonstrations against the anti-democratic move of the Oli-led government.

NC has concluded that the dissolution of the HoR has breached the provision of the Constitution and is against the mandate of the people in general.
