KATHMANDU: Cricket Players Association of Nepal (CPAN) has expressed dissatisfaction over the action taken against key players of Nepali national team.
Issuing a statement on Monday, CPAN, former cricketers association headed by Manish Raj Pandey, and Paras Khadka, expressed dissatisfaction over Cricket Association Nepal’s (CAN) action against the cricketers who had pointed out the issues CAN has to address to bring substantive change in Nepali Cricket.
“The ‘disciplinary’ action aimed to silence the voices against irregularities hampers the growth of Nepali cricket,” the statement said.
Instead of addressing the players’ voices and sentiments, it is regretful that the players who have been striving their best for the promotion of national cricket are made subject to disciplinary action for their just voices” the statement read.
Sipyan’s attention was drawn to the fact that they were being prosecuted, the statement said.
CPAN demanded the instant withdrawal of the action taken against the senior members of Nepali cricket team including team Captain Gynendra Malla and Vice-Captain Dipendra Singh Airee.
Earlier CAN had taken action against four cricketers, including Captain Malla and Airee, on December 15 for expressing dissatisfaction with the classification of the players.
