NEW DELHI: At least 14 people were killed and over a dozen others reported missing as heavy rains continued to ravage parts of India’s Andhra Pradesh on Saturday.
Twelve people are still missing in Kadapa district, where the downpour triggered flash floods, leaving 10 people dead, India Today reported.
Swollen rivers and rivulets caused a huge deluge in three Rayalaseema districts, cutting off roads at some places and throwing life out of gear, it said.
In many places, roads turned into canals and swept vehicles away, according to the report.
As many as 1,544 houses were damaged, 3.4 hectare of agricultural fields inundated, and hundreds of cattle animals were lost.
