Six killed as landslide buries house in Dhankuta



DHANKUTA: Six people have died in a landslide that occurred in Chubise rural municipality-1, in Dhankuta district.

According to District Police Office, Dhankuta, house owner Bhim Bahadur Shrestha, 60, Binod Shrestha, 9, Nirjala Shrestha, 5, and Sanjiv Shrestha, 39, Laxmi Shrestha, 38, and Dipsan Shrestha, 7, from Damak municipality-11, Jhapa were killed after a landslide buried a house on Tuesday night.

Lila Shrestha, Bhesh Bahadur Shrestha, Ganit Kumari Shrestha, Chandra Kumar Shrestha, Usha Shrestha and Sanjal Shrestha sustained injures in the incident.

The injured are receiving treatment at a local health post. Those from Jhapa had come to receive tika on Dashain.

Police with the help of locals have rescued the injured, said Assistant Chief District Office, Dhankuta.
