Police nab three, including a Bangladeshi national, for smuggling Rohingya to Nepal



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested three people, including a Bangladeshi national, on charges of being involved in the smuggling of Rohingyas to Nepal.

According to Police sources, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police arrested three people on charge of trafficking Rohingyas.

“They brought three Rohingyas from Bangladesh to Kathmandu,” the police said, “Among the arrested are two Rohingyas living in Kapan camp along with a Bangladeshi national.”

The arrested have been identified as Noorul Amin, Shafiq Alam of Myanmar and Azmat Ulla of Bangladesh.

Police investigation has shown that the arrested brought the Burmeli Rohingyas living in the Rohingya camp of Bangladesh to Nepal tempting to send them to the United States via Nepal.
