UML lawmakers including whip Shanta Chaudhari, Khagaraj Adhikari, Gokul Baskota, Krishna Bhakta Pokharel, Rajendra Gautam, Lal Babu Pandit, Bimala Bishwokarma, Goma Devkota, Surya Pathak have reached the Office of the Speaker to mount pressure on Speaker Sapkota to this end.

Upon reaching the office, the UML lawmakers have drawn the Speaker’s attention towards taking necessary action to those lawmakers penalized by the party.

UML lawmakers including Chief Whip Bishal Bhattarai on Wednesday had urged Speaker Sapkota to initiate the action taken by the party against the 14 lawmakers.

In reply, the Speaker had assured them that he would initiate the action as per the existing rules.

A central committee (CC) meeting held on August 9 had expelled 14 lawmakers of the Nepal-Khanal faction. The letter of action against them had been sent to the parliament secretariat and the Election Commission on August 17.

The Parliament Secretariat has to paste the notice on the notice board regarding the action taken by the concerned party when the parliament is not operating businesses as per the law.
