NC develops internal technology for digital voting



KATHMANDU: Ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has developed and ensured its own internal technology of ‘digital voting’ now.

The Central Information, Communication and Publicity Department of the NC recently developed the technology at a time when the party took the decision determining its necessity.

Department Secretary Dinesh Thapa Magar said that arrangement has been made where representatives of provincial convention and general convention could vote through the technology being present at party offices of their respective districts.

Capacity has been developed in order to hold all process related to election of the center and all provinces in coming 14th general convention of the party through the technology.

The NC has already published its schedule to hold its 14th general convention in Kathmandu from September 1-4.

A meeting of the Department concluded recently prepared an internal action plan for the demo of digital voting and developed a network of engineers for providing training on the handling of technology and for its facilitation at the district-level.

The meeting also agreed to start ideology dissemination of the General Convention, taking some other decisions.

The Department has already updated party’s official website and completed the data entry of active members as part of the ‘ technology friendly campaign’.

The Department is all set to go with the publicity of the General Convention differently than in the past, making it lively and to collaborate with the party’s Central Policy, Research and Training Academy for the same.

The meeting realizing the  need of simplifications of representatives’ selection process, criteria for candidacy and the statute provisions and making them familiar among all active members assigned Department secretary Magar the responsibility of preparing publicity materials in collaboration with the central election committee.
