Toxic hooch kills four, injures two in Baglung



GALKOT: Four people have died after consuming toxic liquor in Baglung district.

The deceased have been identified as Dipendra Pun, 21, Dudh Bahadur Rana, 39, Rekh Bahadur Rana, 51, and Pravin Gharti, 30, the workers of drinking water project based at Galkot municipality-7.

Similarly, Khemraj Gharti, 38, and Rabindra Pun, 26, are undergoing treatment at Dhaulagiri Hospital. They had fallen seriously ill after consuming locally prepared liquor at a local liquor outlet on Monday.

According to Iqbal Hawari, the Information Officer at the District Police Office, Baglung, they died while undergoing treatment at Dhaulagiri Hospital, Baglung.

Meanwhile, police have arrested the liquor supplier and are investigating the case.
