NC finalizes distribution of active memberships in 143 constituencies



KATHMANDU: Ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has finalized the distribution of active memberships in 143 constituencies out of the 165.

While investigating the issues of active memberships in 143 constituencies, the memberships of 70 wards were stalled, according to Praeep Paudel, the spokesperson of the Active Membership Probe Committee.

Most of the disputes have occurred in Pradesh 2. The problems have been seen in all the constituencies in Bara and Saptari, Constituency 2 in Sarlahi, Constituency 3 of Dhanusha, one constituency in Siraha and Constituency 1 in Rautahat.

The representatives from these districts have been staging sit-ins at the central party office of the Nepali Congress.

Similarly, the disputes have been seen in Solukhumbu district and Constituency 4 of Sunsari district in Pradesh 1.

The disputes have also been seen in Kapilvastu -3 and Pyuthan in Lumbini Pradesh and Dadeldhura and Kailali of Sudurpashchim.

The Probe Committee is making preparations to recommend to hold conventions in these disputed wards based on the active memberships of the 13th General Convention.
