Nepal Telecom launches IP TV service in Lumbini Province

KATHMANDU: Nepal Telecom has launched IP TV service in Lumbini Province from Sunday.

Nepal Telecom Provincial Directorate, Bhairahawa, said the IP TV service branded NTTV was launched through Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) service in the province and the service would be available in Bhairahawa, Butwal, Tansen, Tamghas, Sandhikharka, Parasi and Taulihawa in the first phase.

Director at Provincial Directorate, Bhairahawa, Jhabindra Upadhyaya, said preparations were being made to expand the service to more areas under the directorate.

Nepal Telecom’s Spokesperson Rajesh Joshi said that the concept of triple play came into implementation after the telcom provided NTTV along with voice and data services through FTTH.

The telecom’s NTTV service has all national and regional television channels of the country along with most foreign television channels available and watched in Nepal.

The company is currently providing NTTV service in two packages, Basic and Premium. There are 102 television channels in Basic package and 185 in the premium package.

Nepal Telecom launched the IP TV service on January 1, 2021, in Kathmandu. Outside Kathmandu, the service was available in Banepa and Chitwan.
