Former Minister of State Bista passes away



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader and former Minister of State for Communications Tapta Bahadur Bista has succumbed to coronavirus.

Bista, who was infected with coronavirus in Surkhet, was brought to Kathmandu by helicopter a few days ago for further treatment.

He died at the Mediciti Hospital in Lalitpur on Sunday morning, according to family sources.

He was elected as a member of the Constituent Assembly from Surkhet Constituency No. 3 in 2070 BS.

Bista also became the Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology in the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government in 2074 BS.
