NC lodges poll code violation complaint at Election Commission



KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has filed a complaint against CPN-UML Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Minister of Education, Science and Technology Krishna Gopal Shrestha at the Election Commission (EC) Thursday.

The NC has demanded action against the PM and the Minister for flouting the election code of conduct.

The two ministers Wednesday appealed to voters to vote for Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ in the by-election to the National Assembly (NA), a day earlier before the election during the silence period.

Meanwhile, the NA by-election is underway (started Thursday morning and is expected to continue till late evening). Badal and Khim Lal Devkota are in the fray.

There are a total of 348 voters, including 110 Bagamati Provincial Assembly members and 238 chiefs and deputy chiefs of 119 local units from 13 districts in the province.
