We have not formed another party: Nepal-Khanal faction responds to UML Chair Oli

KATHMANDU: The lawmakers of CPN-UML’s disgruntled Nepal-Khanal group have decided to write to party establishment that they have not formed a new party.

A meeting of lawmakers close to senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal held in Kathmandu Tuesday afternoon decided to confront Chairman KP Oli faction’s ‘false allegations’ that they have breached the party code and made room for party split.

Earlier, Chairman Oli asked the 27 members of the House of Representatives for clarification on the formation of parallel committees nationwide, accusing them of prompting to split the party.

“The allegations against us are fictitious and misleading,” said a lawmaker who attended the meeting. “We have not formed another party, we are struggling within the party and we are moving forward in a united and strong manner.”
