France commemorates 72 years of friendship with Nepal



KATHMANDU: Nepal and France marked 72nd anniversary of bilateral relations Tuesday.

The French Embassy in Nepal in its Facebook page has commemorated today (April 20) as the day the two sovereigns established working relations.

In the Facebook post, the Embassy recalled that it could not celebrate 71st anniversary of establishment of bilateral ties due to outbreak of coronavirus pandemic, which continues even till date.

“Last year was a special one due to the Covid-19 pandemic which brought the world to a standstill. Although, the crisis is not over yet, we must all work together to surmount the difficulties and move ahead for a better and a just world,” the Embassy has written in its page.

On the occasion, the Embassy shares a photobook that was published on the occasion of 70th anniversary of Nepal-France ties.

In the 72 years long partnership France reminds that it has remained a loyal friend to Nepal and expresses commitment to build back better in the aftermath of 2015 earthquake and strengthening bilateral relations in every domain.
