Two rural municipalities in Tanahun come under electricity coverage

TANAHUN: The expansion of electricity to three wards of two local units in Tanahun district has brought cheers to the locals here who are hopeful that electrification would help change the face of their locality.

All the households in the ward no 13 and 14 of Byas Municipality and ward no 6 of Bandipur Rural Municipality have been connected in the national grid.

The incumbent government has envisioned to provide electricity to every household within fiscal year 2022/23.

The Nepal Electricity Authority, the state-owned authority to generate, transmit and distribute electricity, is working accordingly to ensure all the households across the country lit up within stipulated time.

Altogether 115 households at Khaharetar, Dhap, Thumthume and Byas Municipality, Masdighat, Sude and Rijaldi have been provided with the electricity, informed ward no-6 chair Santa Bahadur Gurung. Expansion of electricity to these localities hit a snag due to flood last monsoon and Covid-19 pandemic.

With the electricity connected in every households here, the locals are hugely elated, said Project Site In-charge engineer Laxman Regmi.
