Ex-King Gyanendra Shah and his wife test positive for COVID-19



KATHMANDU: Former King Gyanendra Shah and his wife Komal have tested positive for COVID-19.

Shah couple were confirmed infected with the virus after their test reports of COVID-19 came out positive, said the Ministry of Health and Population.

The former royals had taken the ‘Royal bath’ on April 12 and had entertained meetings with various political and religious leaders during their stay at Haridwar.

During the visit, the hosts welcomed and honored former King Shah as the King of Hindu Kingdom Nepal.

The Shahs landed at Tribhuvan International Airport on April 18 afternoon.

Earlier, in a coronavirus test carried out prior to their journey back home, the former royals had tested negative.
