Bamdev Gautam reaches Baluwatar to attend CPN-UML PP meeting

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML leader Bamdev Gautam has reached Baluwatar to attend the Parliamentary Party (PP) meeting.

Gautam’s visit to Baluwatar is seen as meaningful in the context of Gautam running a separate campaign to settle disputes within the party.

Gautam had also urged everyone to attend the meeting Friday.

However, Madhav Nepal faction of the party has decided not to attend the meeting.

The parliamentary party meeting today is expected to amend the statute of the PP.

The task force formed to amend the statute will present its report today. The UML PP meeting on March 18 had formed a three-member statute amendment task force led by Chief Whip Bishal Bhattarai.

Likewise, the central committee will form the General Convention Organizing Committee, Secretary Rijal said. The UML’s 10th general convention has been scheduled to be held in coming November later this year.
