PM’s Press Advisor Thapa objects to absence of VP, Speaker at swearing-in ceremonies

KATHMANDU: Press Advisor to Prime Minister KP Oli, Surya Thapa, has objected to the absence of the Vice President and the Speaker at swearing-in ceremonies.

Thapa has remarked that one should not become irresponsible by holding an honorable position.

Writing a long status on Facebook, Thapa argued that it was a shame for those who witnessed the absence of the Vice President and the Speaker.

Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun and Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota were absent at the swearing-in ceremony of the new Province 2 Chief on Saturday.

Earlier, they had boycotted the swearing-in ceremony of heads and members of various constitutional bodies.
