PM Oli conspired to jail me and Prachanda: NCP leader Nepal

KATHMANDU: Chairman of Prachanda-Nepal faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Madhav Kumar Nepal has accused the Oli faction of conspiring to put him and Prachanda behind bars.

Expressing grievances during a press meet with the editors close to the Prachanda-Nepal faction on Wednesday, Nepal said he has undergone a lot of sufferings due to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

“We suffered a lot from KP Oli until the party unification,” he said, adding, “We have at least got a respite now.”

“We had hoped that the environment would turn out to be better and would get a bit respite following the party unification, said Nepal, “Even after the party unification, Oli inflicted woes on us by breaching party statute regulations.”

Nepal claimed that Oli had conspired to put him and Prachanda behind bars in the Lalita Niwas land grab case.

“Prime Minister Oli had plotted to put me and Prachanda in the jail,” said Nepal, adding, “He was conspiring to first put me in the jail and then Prachanda afterwards,” he revealed. “Lalita Niwas land grab scam was a conspiracy orchestrated to intentionally to land us behind bars,” alleged he.

Earlier, Chairman of Sudurpaschim Pradesh Karna Bahadur Thapa on Tuesday said chairman of the Prachanda-Nepal faction Nepal will land in the prison shortly.

Speaking at an oath-taking ceremony of officer bearers’ and members of the District Committee of the Oli faction held in Bajhang on Tuesday, Thapa said Nepal will go to jail over the Lalita Niwas land scam.

“Madhav Nepal will land in the prison soon”, said Thapa, adding, “Deep Basnyat and Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar have already been convicted of the same issue, why not Nepal?”

Thapa maintained that Basnyat, who played a role in registering Lalita Niwas land in the names of various individuals, had consulted with then Prime Minister Nepal, concluding that he is the main accused in the land grab scam.
