Madhav Nepal will land in jail shortly: Oli camp leader

KATHMANDU: Chairman of Sudurpaschim Pradesh Karna Bahadur Thapa has said chairman of the Prachanda-Nepal faction Madhav Nepal will land in the prison shortly.

Speaking at an oath-taking ceremony of officer bearers’ and members of the District Committee of the Oli faction held in Bajhang on Tuesday, Thapa said Nepal will go to jail over the Lalita Niwas land scam.

“Madhav Nepal will land in the prison soon”, said Thapa, adding, “Deep Basnyat and Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar have already been convicted of the same issue, why not Nepal?”

Thapa maintained that Basnyat, who played a role in registering Lalita Niwas land in the names of various individuals, had consulted with then Prime Minister Nepal, concluding that he is the main accused in the land grab scam.
