Prachanda says he is ready to accept NC Prez Deuba as PM

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda has said he is ready to accept main opposition party leader Sher Bahadur Deuba as the Prime Minister of Nepal.

Speaking in an interview with Prime Times Television, Prachanda said he is ready to accept Deuba or anyone who will protect the Constitution, ensure political stability and development in the country.

“I don’t feel any uncomfortable to accept Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba as the Prime Minister of Nepal. I had accepted him as the Prime Minister through an agreement in the past, too,” said Deuba.

“We had even made an electoral alliance with NC party in the past,” Prachanda said adding, “There is nothing objectionable to propose Deuba as the next PM. However, we have not discussed the issue as of now.”

He further claimed that Sher Bahadur Deuba and he himself were the first persons who had initiated the peace process in the country.

In the meantime, he clarified that he is not running after the post of the prime minister.
