SAFF U19 Women’s Championship: Nepal suffers 1-0 loss to India

KATHMANDU: Nepal lost 1-0 against India in its final SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship group match in Dhaka on Sunday.

The win secured India’s place in the final. Nepal will now have to wait for the result between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to confirm their place in the final.

Nepal will reach the final only if Sri Lanka defeats Bangladesh in the final group match. If Bangladesh draws or wins the match, they will reach the final at Nepal’s expense.

Priyanka Devi scored the only goal in the 67th minute for India. India needed a win against Nepal to book their place in the final.

Nepal had drawn Bangladesh and defeated Sri Lanka 6-0 and Bhutan 4-0 in its previous matches.
