PM Deuba condoles Powell’s demise



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has condoled the passing of former US Secretary of State Gen. Colin Powell.

Posting a twitter message Prime Minister Deuba has stated that he has been saddened by the untimely demise of Powel, recalling his meetings with Powel in Nepal and America in 2002.

Powell passed away due to COVID-19 at the age of 84 on Monday, according to his family members.

Powell had served as a high-ranking military officer before he became the US Secretary of State from Republican Party during the tenure of George W. Bush as the President in 2000.

Powell had visited Nepal on January 18, 2002.
