Festivals help consolidate national unity: President



KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has expressed the belief that the cultural and historical festival of Kumari Indrajatra celebrated by the Newar community of Kathmandu Valley would help strengthen the national unity.

This, she said would deepen the spirit of mutual trust, harmony, tolerance and cooperation among Nepalis of different castes, languages, cultures and regions.

Extending best wishes on the occasion of Kumari Indrajatra in a message today, she has wished happiness, peace, prosperity and good health to all Nepali brothers and sisters at home and abroad.

She has stressed on the need to pass on our glorious civilization to future generations by preserving the age-old festivals like Kumari Indrajatra, which are living examples of rich history and tradition of the country.

The President has also called upon all concerned to observe the festivals carefully following the public health norms to avoid the COVID-19.
