Govt forms high-level panel for COVID-19 control and management

KATHMANDU: The government has formed a high-level committee under the chairmanship of Minister of State for Health and Population Umesh Shrestha to control the corona pandemic.

Secretary at the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Dr. Roshan Pokharel is the vice chair, Chief specialist Dipendra Raman Singh is the joint vice chair and Chief of Policy Planning and Monitoring Division Gunaraj Lohani is the member secretary of the high-level panel.

The panel is formed to better coordinate and implement government efforts to control and curb the pandemic, ensure regular health service to citizens, monitor the situation and manage health supplies.

Likewise, other members of the committee include Dr. Rampadarath Bichcha, acting director general of the Department of Health Services (DHS), Dr. Basudev Upadhaya of Ayurveda and Alternative Medicine section at MoHP, Bharat Bhattarai of the Department of Drug Administration (DDA), Dr. Krishna Prasad Poudel, director of the epidemiology and disease control division of DHS, and Rudra Marasini, chief consultant of National Trauma Center.
