UML chair urges Vice Chair Rawal to withdraw resignation

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has urged Vice Chairman Bhim Rawal to withdraw his resignation.

Speaking at UML Central Committee (CC) meeting held at Tulsi Lal Memorial Foundation in Chysal, Lalitpur, Monday, Chairman Oli said Rawal resigned in a haste. “Why did he had to resign in a hurry without any consultation? Do withdraw your resignation if it isn’t too late,” Oli said.

Oli added Rawal tendered resignation after senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal reproached him for urging leader Nepal to preserve party unity. The UML chair also said leader Nepal had not accepted the 10-point unity deal despite the party’s Standing Committee endorsing it.

Rawal announced his resignation from the post of lawmaker Sunday.
