KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairperson KP Oli has termed party’s senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal as a traitor of the communist movement.
Addressing the 10th meeting of UML’s Central Committee at Chysal, Lalitpur on Monday, chairman Oli showered his outrage against leader Nepal.
UML’s CC meeting has decided to seek clarification from 22 lawmakers who, despite the party whip to stand against Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, gave vote of confidence to Deuba on Sunday.
Oli regarded termed Sunday’s incident in parliament as ‘extraordinary and extremely immoral.’
“Yesterday’s move of some UML lawmakers to give a vote of confidence to Nepali Congress leader Deuba in Parliament yesterday is shameful, unnatural and extremely immoral,” he said.
He also accused Nepal of seeking the chairmanship of the committee without holding majority in the party.
Chairman Oli reiterated that although other lawmakers who made mistakes could be excused if they repented, leader Nepal would not be excused for the ‘crime’ he committed.
Earlier, he had made similar remark against leader Nepal after leaving Baluwatar and reaching Balkot.
“The party will be a fish market if action is not taken against the leader who does not follow party discipline,” the UML Chairman said in the meeting, adding, “Wrong doers, irrespective of their positions, should to be booked as per party regulations.”
