PM Deuba to visit vaccination centers today

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is scheduled to inspect and monitor the vaccination campaign launched by the government for the prevention and control of COVID-19 epidemic today.

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine, received from the United States, will be administered to the citizens in different parts of the country today, the Ministry of Health and Population has said.

One million and five hundred thousand doses of Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines donated by the United States of America (USA) had arrived in Nepal on July 12.

According to the US Embassy in Nepal, this vaccine requires only one shot to be fully vaccinated — meaning 1.5 million people will soon be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in Nepal.

Earlier, President Bidya Bhandari had written a letter to her American counterpart Joe Biden urging the latter to extend help in COVID-19 vaccines.
