Court seeks written response from Office of President

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has issued a show-cause notice today in the name of the Office of the President to submit a written response in relation to the Ordinance relating to the Constitutional Council.

The order was issued by a single bench of justice Meera Khadka, asking the office to submit its response within 15 days.

The order comes in response to a writ petition filed by Dr Punya Khatiwada, who has called for non-implementation of the Ordinance issued to amend the Constitutional Council Act, 2066 BS.

Both sides have also been invited for a hearing on May 31 to decide whether an interim order is to be issued on the matter.
