Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll reaches 5,657 with 246 new fatalities



KATHMANDU: As many as 246 COVID-19 patients have reportedly succumbed to the coronavirus pandemic in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the new deaths have taken the country’s death toll to 5,657 as of Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Nepal recorded a total of 8,173 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 8,064  persons have tested positive for COVID-19 through the RT-PCR method while 109 have been tested positive through the Antigen method.

According to the Ministry, 1,988 persons in Kathmandu, 270 in Lalitpur, and 228 in Bhaktapur have been tested positive for the pandemic virus, making the capital valley’s fresh coronavirus cases 2,486 in past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 7,999 persons have returned home after complete health recovery from COVID-19.
