Government to take action against hospitals forcing patients to arrive with oxygen

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has decided to take action against health facilities found setting conditions for receiving patients.

The Ministry has urged hospitals not to demand patients or visitors for oxygen cylinders of their own.

Some hospitals are found compelling patients to bring oxygen cylinders of their own in order to receive treatment, said Ministry Joint-Spokesperson Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari.

The Ministry claimed that it has ensured oxygen supply to hospitals as per the need being based on the data of patients and patients reaching hospitals are expected to get it if needed.
