President Bhandari ends Winter session of Parliament



KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has ended the current session of the House of Representatives (HoR) on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.

President Bhandari announced the end of the session in accordance with Article 93, Clause 2 of the Constitution.

The letter sent by the President to Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota states, “I have concluded the current session of the House of Representatives from today at 1 pm on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers on April 19.”

The decision to this effect has been made at a time when the government has been criticized for not giving business to the House.

The session had begun on March 7.

Prime Minister KP Oli had dissolved the House of Representatives on December 20.
