President Bhandari appoints Ramesh Badal as new Attorney General



KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari, on the recommendation of Prime Minister KP Oli, has appointed Advocate Ramesh Badal as Attorney General, the government’s chief legal advisor on Friday.

A statement issued by the President’s office on Friday says that  Advocate Badal  has been appointed as the Attorney General as per  Article 157 (2) of the Constitution.

The post had gone vacant Attorney General Agni Kharel announced his resignation Friday afternoon.

Sources claimed that the government was not much satisfied with Kharel’s performance in the case related with the dissolution of the House of Representatives.
